Positive School Culture Program

NEO uses a schoolwide system to reinforce positive behavior and support student growth. Students are recognized with points or merits for responsible behavior, which they can redeem for books, prizes, and special activities. Field trip participation is tied to positive behavior and attendance. High school students also earn tickets for volunteer opportunities, building responsibility and leadership. Teachers maintain strong communication with families through ClassDojo and phone calls, creating consistency between home and school.


Dress Code

NEO maintains a clear, age-appropriate dress code that promotes unity and focus:

  • Tops: Black or white polo shirts
  • Bottoms: Black or khaki pants or knee-length skirts
  • Shoes/Accessories: Closed toe/heel shoes in black or white
  • Grades 9–12: May wear NEO sports gear and shoes of any color
  • Note: Scarves, bonnets, and do-rags are not permitted

Field Trips & Learning Excursions

Students explore the world beyond the classroom through grade-specific experiences:

  • Grades K–5: Hale Farm, Great Lakes Science Center, Cleveland Zoo & Aquarium, Nature Walk
  • Grades 6–8: College visits (Cleveland State, Ursuline, Baldwin Wallace), Roller Skating, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Nature Walk
  • Grades 9–12: College Visits (Cleveland State), Local Library, Playhouse Square, Math and Science Day at Cedar Point, Internships through Senior Capstone Program

Middle School Sports:

  • Cheer – Free school team or $75 competition team
  • Cross Country ($30 fee includes snacks, gear, and warmups)
  • Volleyball (Free)
  • 8th grade students may try out for high school teams if a middle school team is unavailable

High School Sports:

  • Basketball ($60 fee)
  • Cheer – Free school team or $75 competition team

  • Teams compete in the NEOC League
  • Sports fees include snacks, gear bag, and warmups
